Andrey Slepnev, REC General Director, signed an order approving the 2020-2021 schedule of business events, where exporters’ participation costs are eligible to be co-financed out of a government grant. REC traditionally provides the service for all businesses concerned. The main goal is to develop companies’ export potential by refunding a part of expenses related to exhibition and fair activities.
According to the order, exporters will be able to participate in exhibitions held both in Russia and abroad. Thus, the 2020 schedule includes 108 events, and the 2021 schedule – 89 ones. Among those scheduled in 2020, 18 events will be held in Russia, 90 – abroad. Exhibition venues include Russia, Europe, China, UAE, Egypt, Cuba, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, etc.
The list includes exhibitions related to a wide variety of business sectors – from metallurgy and mechanical engineering to healthcare and film festivals presenting creative industries. The exhibitions will start right after the New Year holidays and end in late December only.
The most significant and popular exhibitions to be held in 2020 are SIAL China 2020 (May), CHINA INTERNATIONAL IMPORT EXPO 2020 (November), Hannover Messe 2020 (April), Expo-Russia Uzbekistan 2020 (April), 7th Russian-Chinese EXPO 2020 (July), Big Industrial Week Arabia 2020 (October), etc. In addition, REC traditionally offers large-scale exposition zones with the participation of exporters at large international events held in Russia, such as Russian Internet Forum, St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Eastern Economic Forum, etc.
It is important that the schedule has been made considering proposals both from federal executive authorities concerned and business organizations and associations. The final schedule has been approved considering the rating of international events based on their influence on the growth of non-energy goods and service exports. In creation of the schedule, a point-based system has been used to evaluate the scale, relevance and efficiency.
