REC and Minpromtorg to develop measures to support IT exporters taking into account industry specifics
The Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia (Minpromtorg) hosted an educational seminar of Russian Export Center (part of VEB.RF) for IT and electronics companies engaged in export activities. The seminar was dedicated to the measures to support the exporting IT and electronics companies provided by the Russian Export Center Group. The main issue of the agenda was about the changes that are required to improve export efficiency.
“We view such educational sessions not only as a way to communicate about the existing support instruments offered by the REC group but also to hear what needs to be changed, what the IT and electronics industry needs today. The REC Group’s tools already allow companies to receive support at all export stages. Russian IT solutions from the inner market were able to squeeze foreign players and took a significant share of the world market. The further development of measures and expansion in foreign markets depend on the joint efforts of all interested parties,” Maxim Kobin, Vice President of REC JSC said to the participants of the seminar. In his speech, he drew attention to the statistics of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation, showing an increase in the export of computer and information services to $ 5.2 billion in 2020 compared to $ 4.6 billion in 2019, which demonstrates the growing role of IT in the Russian economy.
32 companies, including specialized IT and electronics associations, took part in the discussion of the improved model of support measures for the IT industry. Russian Export Center and Minpromtorg of Russia will take into account the proposals received to develop a strategy to support the export of services.
