Russian Export Center (part of VEB.RF) and Russian Post have opened for Russian exporters access to the nation online store on Amazon.de. At the launch stage, 18 Russian companies will display their goods online. The total number of SKUs to be placed online will exceed 350. The products will include natural cosmetics, clothing and accessories, home and garden goods, children’s goods, toys, and craft supplies.
One of the advantages of the national store is the speed of delivery of goods from any point in Russia to the end consumer in Europe. The average delivery time to Germany will not exceed 3-5 days, including customs clearance. Delivery from the warehouse of Russian Post in Berlin to the end customer in Germany will take 1 to 3 more days. Also, exporters who distribute products through the online store, may enjoy assistance in product certification and other legal issues.
In addition, the organizers of the national online store will analyze the assortment and sel ect the most promising products, localize and adapt product cards, list products on the marketplace and promote the national store, process orders and support customers.
Presence on the national online store will help exporters to save money when entering the European market, as well as to test the potential consumer audience and expand sales channels.
Entering the habitual for European consumers platform will increase brand awareness and help improve supplies despite the Covid-19 constraints. Amid the pandemic, European online retail grew by 30% in 2020, which opens up new prospects for Russian products given their competitive cost.
“Placing on the online national store will help gain confidence of foreign buyers, find a reliable distributor, and reach a foreign retail chain in the promising European market. Our goal is to promote the quality of Russian products and fast delivery to European consumers,” Veronika Nikishina, General Director of REC JSC.
“One of our key objectives is to support the export of Russian products. We strive to create the most favorable conditions for growth for business, especially SMEs. To this end, we develop new digital services, logistics infrastructure and work on important regulatory initiatives. We hope that the new project with Russian Export Center will give an additional impetus to the development of export from Russia to Europe,” Maxim Akimov, General Director of Russian Post JSC.
The national online store is already selling the first Russian products, which include about 350 SKUs from 18 Russian companies, namely natural cosmetics, clothing and accessories, home and garden goods, children’s goods, toys and creative goods. Food and beverage products that require separate Amazon approvals will be added soon.
