REC launched a business mission in the power industry
An opening online conference for the energy industry was held. The conference is part of a series of events, marking the beginning of business missions in various sectors, organized by Russian Export Center JSC with the assistance of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia and the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. This is the third business mission for exporters that has been launched in November.
The conference addressed the current trends in the energy industry and the export prospects for producers, effective mechanisms and marketing tools for promoting abroad. In particular, the audience got acquainted with the measures of state support provided by REC and the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation to Russian industrial companies. In turn, exporters shared their success in arranging foreign economic activity.
Sergey Vologodsky, Vice President of REC JSC, in his welcoming speech to the participants of the event emphasized the importance of the upcoming business mission, noting that the current restrictions should not affect the export activity of local producers: “Online negotiations in the current circumstances are most effective and convenient both for us and our foreign counterparties. The shift of the business missions to an online format allows conducting more than a hundred targeted negotiations with foreign buyers interested in our domestic products in a month. This once again confirms the fact that we must take advantage of all the opportunities emerging amid the crisis. We are looking forward to active work with 11 exporters who will negotiate with potential foreign buyers.”
Almost all exporters who spoke at the conference said that effective foreign economic activity requires a producer to build long-term “win-win” partnership relations. The “done and forgotten” concept does not fit the market any more, especially in high-tech, technologically complex sectors.
Ivan Nalich trade representative of the Russian Federation in Algeria emphasized: “To enter the foreign market effectively, an exporter needs to open a representative office or, at least, build strong and trusting relationships with local trade and service partners.” All trade missions of the Russian Federation abroad, which took part in the conference, confirmed their readiness to assist Russian exporters planning to enter foreign markets. They provide potential exporters with valuable advice and practical recommendations.
The business mission itself will take place from 17 November to 17 December 2020, online on the b2b-Russia.com digital platform.
