Turkey is one of Russia’s major trading partners, traditionally entering the top ten countries importing Russian products. The relations between our countries are of strategic nature. Therefore, Turkey was chosen to launch the REC (exports support group) office there. The status of the partner country within the 10th International Industrial Trade Fair INNOPROM also shows the specific nature of the relations between our countries.
An export support group is being created on the basis of the trade mission of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Turkey within the framework of the Unified system to promote exports in regions and abroad. in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation and abroad, which is being successfully developed by REC and the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation. This was declared by Denis Manturov, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, in his welcoming speech at the opening of the plenary session of the Russian-Turkish Industrial Forum "Industrial Partnership: New Tasks and Projects" held within INNOPROM-2019 Trade Fair.
The integrated institutions ensuring the support of Russian exporters abroad are opened within the framework of “International Cooperation and Export” national project. Besides Turkey, it is planned to launch the REC offices in Germany, China, and Singapore until the end of the summer. The REC offices (ESG) are already operating in a new format in India, Uzbekistan, and Vietnam.
Moreover, five offices mutually established by REC and Export Support Centers are already operating in the regions of the Russian Federation, namely in Belgorod, Rostov, Samara Oblast, Krasnodar and Stavropol Krai.
Another 12 offices abroad and 6 Export Support Centers in the Russian Federation will be integrated into the project until the end of the year.
To provide a unified digital platform for cooperation, REC develops a one-stop shop information system.
Russian and Turkish companies will be able to benefit from the one-stop shop principle and enjoy a set of financial and non-financial support measures. Capabilities of the Russian trade missions in Turkey and REC, REC and local Russian Export Support Centers in combination with the single digital platform will improve the quality and speed of request processing for searching the relevant business contacts, their targeting, which ultimately will lead to an increase in the number of Russian-Turkish projects
The economy of the Republic of Turkey is one of the fastest growing in the world. Turkish economy is one of the most dynamically developing in the region due to its diversified nature, favorable geographical and political position, and significant foreign capital inflow.
At year-end 2018, the Russian-Turkish trade turnover increased by 16% as compared to 2017, exceeding $ 25 billion. In particular, Russian exports amounted to $ 21.3 billion (+ 13.9%), imports - 4, $ 2 billion (+23.5%).
