Non-resource non-energy exports from Russia increased by 26% during the 5 months of 2021 compared to the same period last year and reached $ 65 billion. Veronika Nikishina, Head of Russian Export Center (REC), announced this in an interview with TASS.
“In the first 5 months of 2021, the non-resource non-energy exports reached $ 65 billion, which is 26% more than last year’s results for the same period. This is a timely assessment from the REC analytical center,” she said.
According to Nikishina, the growth is largely caused by the dynamics of prices on the international market. Metallurgy, chemical industry, and mechanical engineering remain the main drivers of export growth.
