Andrey Slepnev, General Director, Russian Export Centre, and Nobuhiko Sasaki, Chairman of Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), within the framework of Eastern Economic Forum-2019, have signed Memorandum of cooperation aimed at creation of Russian-Japanese platform to promote joint trade and economic projects.
JETRO's Trade Tie-Up Promotion Program matching platform, various business events with participation of Russian and Japanese businesses, joint seminars and other training initiatives, as well as integration of the Russian suppliers in the manufacturing networks of the Japanese corporations will serve as project promotion channels.
REC group has been turning its focus toward comprehensive promotion of Russian export-oriented companies in the Japanese market, taking into account the high importance of this country to solve the problems of technological development and expansion of Russian non-resource exports. According to the results of 2018, the trade turnover between the two countries has grown for 19%, passing the mark of 20 billion dollars, with non-resource non-power exports showing the growth of 13%, and reaching 2.8 billion dollars. The basis of the turnover is formed by products of metallurgy, agriculture and forestry.
