Russia and Kazakhstan discuss scaling the Agroexpress project and expanding the supply of agricultural products in refrigerated trains along the Russia - Kazakhstan - China and Russia - Kazakhstan - Uzbekistan routes. This will enhance the promotion of food products to the markets of third countries. The parties are interested in further expanding the practice of organizing high-speed agricultural logistics using the existing transport potential of the railway network in South-East and Central Asia.
For this, a number of objectives will have to be solved, namely on how to use special tariff conditions for transportation and to determine the points of consolidation of goods on the territory of both countries.
“So that our manufacturers will be able to quickly deliver food products to the third markets, it is necessary, first, to build the infrastructure capable of consolidating products and providing the necessary temperature conditions. We also have to establish a digital veterinary and phytosanitary certificate, which will help speed up commodity flows by reducing the control and administrative burden on carriers,” Veronika Nikishina, General Director of REC JSC.
“The well-structured joint work of REC JSC and Russian Railways Logistics JSC with the railway companies from Russia and neighboring countries within the framework of the Agroexpress project has made it possible to launch new export routes and create one of the key elements of the system for promoting export goods to target countries with high purchasing potential. We create mutually beneficial conditions for the transportation of agricultural products along the Russia - Kazakhstan – China and Russia - Kazakhstan - Uzbekistan routes and other countries of Southeast and Central Asia on a parity basis. This optimizes export logistics and creates conditions for increasing the volume of mutual trade,” Dmitry Murev, General Director of Russian Railways Logistics JSC.
We also need to agree with the Chinese party the admission of the goods flow to the local market and optimize the delivery technology so that the agricultural products of Russia and Kazakhstan are presented even in the remote Chinese provinces.
Russian Export Center JSC (REC, part of VEB.RF) is a state institution for the support of non-resource export. It consolidates a group of companies that provide Russian exporters with a wide range of financial and non-financial support measures. The REC Group integrates the Russian Agency for Export Credit and Investment Insurance (EXIAR JSC), EXIMBANK OF RUSSIA JSC, and ANO Export School, which makes it possible to ensure the availability of the product portfolio that satisfies the needs of various exporters at different stages of the export cycle, from ideation to payment for exported goods and services.
