Success story: Innovative Ecological Platform LLC, Russian manufacturer of reverse vending machines, signed an agreement to supply its products to Kazakhstan
Since the end of 2019, IEP LLC has been helping manufacturers and retailers in Russia to achieve sustainable development goals. 30 reverse vending machines for plastic and aluminum have already been installed in Moscow, the Moscow Oblast, St. Petersburg and Krasnodar. Now the company is entering the CIS market. The first fandomat (or “taromat” in Belarus) was installed in Minsk in the Skala Shopping Mall. In six months it managed to collect more than 75,000 bottles and cans. A new cooperation agreement was signed with a consortium of companies from Kazakhstan:
· Taza Qala Taza El (kaz. "Clean City"), a company that receives and sorts out recyclable materials and an ERP operator;
· Green Technology Industries, the largest PET processor and manufacturer of chemical fibers in Kazakhstan;
· BetaPlast LLP, a company that collects and transports recyclable materials.
“Innovative Ecological Platform is a young ambitious company, which, having recently started as a start-up, is already taking its first confident and successful steps in export despite all the difficulties, including epidemiological ones. REC Group tracks the company’s record and provides support, where necessary. Now we are primarily consulting the company on foreign economic activity, product certification and customization matters, but in parallel, the issues of both financial support and comprehensive promotion are already being discussed,” Nikita Gusakov, Senior Vice President of REC.
IEP’s reverse vending machines will become part of the EPR infrastructure – extended producer responsibility. Thanks to high-precision sensors, the fandomat accepts only empty and clean containers, which can be immediately sent to recyclers. As compensation for recycled bottles and banks, residents can receive bonuses on their retail loyalty cards and discounts. The fandomat can scan barcodes of loyalty cards and issue checks with QR codes.
According to BetaPlast LLP, PET recycling and disposal helps to stop environmental pollution. Today, almost all types of drinks and household liquids are sold in plastic bottles. But the main problem is that plastic is a hardly degradable material. It takes three hundred years for plastic to degrade under normal conditions, and recycling is the solution. Fandomat is a powerful tool for promoting eco-habits among the population.
The first equipment deliveries are scheduled for December 2020. Besides fandomats, Innovative Ecological Platform LLC supplies shopping carts disinfection stations and hands sanitizer stations.
