Top national exporters

2 November  2020 - 13 winners of the All-Russian Exporter of the Year contest were determined by the federal contest committee. The meeting was held in the Russian Export Center. About 70 applicant companies joined the meeting via videoconference.
First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Government, Chairman of the Contest Committee Andrey Belousov, has said the situation, in which exporters are operating, is extreme and it has become much more difficult to export.
“This year the overwhelming majority of overseas markets have closed, and many large markets have fallen in recession. Those who have taken up and withstood the challenge, despite the problems with increasing the sales volumes, are true heroes. It is especially important for the government to support business in whole and export-oriented companies in particular. From 2021 to 2024, it is planned to allocate an unprecedented amount of 650 billion rubles from the federal budget only to support exports,” Andrey Belousov.
But despite the difficult economic situation, in 2020, Russian companies actively applied for participation in the award.
“This year we received a record number of applications, over 1,700, and we witnessed active competition between the applicants in each federal district. This, however, is not surprising: exporting companies should be proactive and ambitious players,” Veronika Nikishina,  General Director of REC, said about the specifics of the Award this year.
As a result of voting 13 winners out of 85 winners of the regional stages were selected in 12 nominations. In one of the nominations, two companies shared the first place (a complete list of winners in each nomination is provided below).
“The commission has faced enormous difficulties: there are so many brilliant results that it has been often extremely difficult to make a choice. All the victories are really deserved and have been resulted from the enormous work of companies’ employees. With all my heart, I would like to congratulate the teams and the heads of the companies who have won prizes. All participants deserve the highest esteem, and we will cooperate with all companies,” Andrey Belousov commented on the voting results.
The award ceremony will take place on 9 December at the "Made in Russia" forum.

This year, the principles of transparency and openness have been improved within the framework of the All-Russian Exporter of the Year Award.
The nominees were selected based on two cross-section approaches: electronic automatic ranking using artificial intelligence and expert ranking by the members of the Unified District Contest Committee. Key criteria include export activity evaluation, international promotion evaluation and the degree of export activity.
To ensure openness of contest procedures, the Unified District Contest Committee selected the nominees online with the participation of the leaders of regional Export Support Centers and sectoral ministries from 82 Russian regions within the framework of the regional export support network built by REC.
Another innovation emphasizing the openness of the Contest was the participation of the exporters in the online meeting, which allowed them to directly answer the questions of the Contest Committee.
